I have always been a dreamer and my heart often centered around special places in Aotearoa New Zealand. I wrote this song as a tribute to Aotearoa New Zealand and the miracles that can happen when one dreams.

Dreams Can Take Us Far Away

I've walked with stone giants at Kura Tawhiti
Kayaked the crystal waters of Lake Manapouri
Watched a silver moonrise on the Rangitata River.
Oh I'd love to watch that moon rise once again.
Dreams can take us far away
Those dreams of yesterday.

I've shared first sunlight with Tane Mahuta
Passed beneath the beech trees of the Rangiwahia
Spent Canterbury nights watching stars fall through the darkness.
Oh I'd love to share those evenings once again.
Dreams can take us far away
Those dreams of yesterday.

Let me live to hear of kiwis roaming free on Taranaki.
Let me see the Southern Cross from the shadows of Aoraki.
Trade stories with my best friend and tip a Speight's on Milford Sound
Oh I'd love to trade stories once again
And watch the stars fallin' through the darkness
Those dreams used to take us far away
Those dreams used to take us far away.

Yes, I'd love to trade those stories once again.
And watch the stars falling through the darkness with you
Those dreams used to take us far away.
Those dreams used to take us far away.
Those dreams used to take us far away.
Those dreams of yesterday.
